Stock contributor tool

AI Stock Photo Description Generator

Write a clear first draft of what a stock image shows. CSV Metadata helps turn visual content into an editable title or description, with separate marketplace settings for the fields you plan to export.

Describe the subject, action and setting

A useful stock photography description tells a buyer what is in the frame. Start with the main subject, add an observable action and identify the setting when it is clear. For example, a person working at a laptop beside a window can be described without inventing their job title, nationality or employer. Keep subjective claims such as best, award-winning or successful out of the description unless the asset and its context support them.

Generate an image description, then check it

Upload a supported image in stock metadata mode and choose the destination platform. Read the draft next to the original asset. Correct counts, clothing, object names and lighting when needed. For people and locations, supply only details you know and are allowed to include. The model sees pixels; it cannot establish a person's identity, permissions or the exact address of a generic-looking location.

Use the right field for Shutterstock or Adobe Stock

The destination matters. Shutterstock uses a description field in its contributor CSV workflow, while Adobe Stock uses a title field. Choose the matching preset so the final text lands in the intended column. A readable sentence is more useful than repeating the entire keyword list, and a platform-specific field limit should be checked in the selected settings before the export is created.

Review descriptions across a series

For a batch of similar photographs, confirm that each description matches its own composition. A portrait, a close-up of hands and a wide workplace scene need different emphasis even if they came from the same shoot. Review completed files in the queue, edit inaccurate wording and keep original filenames connected to the corresponding rows. Reuse a factual structure, but do not force the exact same sentence onto every variation.

Copy or export the reviewed text

When you are satisfied with the description, copy it for one asset or export a contributor CSV for the batch. Check a sample row before uploading. This tool supports stock contributor descriptions; a website's accessibility alt text has a different job and should reflect the image's purpose on that specific page. Generated wording also does not replace captions that require independently verified editorial facts.

Frequently asked questions

Is a stock description the same as alt text?

No. A stock description helps describe an asset in a marketplace workflow. Accessibility alt text depends on the image's purpose in the page where it appears.

Can I change the generated description?

Yes. Review and edit the draft before copying it or exporting CSV metadata.
