Best Keywords for Adobe Stock Images
Good stock keywords describe what a buyer can actually see or reasonably infer from the image. The goal is useful retrieval, not filling every available keyword slot.
Start with the main subject
Put the most important object, person, place or concept first. If the image is a close-up of a ceramic coffee cup, coffee, cup and beverage are stronger starting terms than generic words such as lifestyle.
Add visible attributes
Include useful colors, materials, actions, environment, viewpoint and composition when they are clearly present.
Add commercial concepts carefully
Concepts such as teamwork, sustainability or relaxation can be useful when the scene supports them. Avoid concepts that require guessing intent.
Remove duplicates and weak synonyms
Near-duplicates can crowd out better keywords. Prefer the most natural search terms a buyer would type.
Review the first keywords
Adobe's current vector metadata guidance notes that the first ten keywords receive priority in search, so relevance order deserves deliberate review.
